- New director search
-
- Bob has not looked more into this because he has still been working on the inventory. He might wait until closer to the end of the semester.
-
- Inventory
- Bob says he’s about $200 over the budget for new equipment.
- He should be done with the inventory ordering by the next board meeting.
- 2018 Schedule
- Don W has worked on a tentative schedule that cuts the schedule roughly in half.
- The College Mall has given away the time we were aiming for on Dec. 9 for the Christmas concert.
- Might be able to play later in the day.
- IU finishes on Dec. 14, so the next week might mean that we won’t have enough people to play on the next weekend.
- The tentative July date for McCormick’s Creek might get moved to early October, which would give us a fall concert and ease up the July schedule, which still has 4 events.
- The tentative start time in late February might be a little late, but people probably do need the month of January off.
- Joe noted that it takes a while for the band to get its chops back, so he’d like to start somewhat earlier.
- In general, early February seems to be a good compromise.
- Lloyd motioned to start rehearsals on Feb. 5; Doug seconded.
- Motion failed.
- Ryan suggested that woodwinds meet on Feb. 5th; brass and percussion on Feb. 12; full band Feb 19th.
- Lloyd moved to approve this proposal; Doug seconded.
- Motion passed.
- Uniform policies
- Tabled for a later date
- OATS
- Don T. has been working on a new reporting option.
- Hurricane Relief for community bands in Houston
- Sponsored by the American Concert Band Association
- Doug moved to donate $200, to be taken from the sheet music line item from our budget; Kyle seconded.
- Motion passed.
- Meeting adjourned at 9:45.
